Projects & case studies

Real things I designed, built and run: a full-stack SaaS app, an open-source research tool and a local small-business site.

QUEST 01 · Full-stack SaaS web app · Launched Oct 2026

DealSkout

Real estate deal analysis for fix-and-flip, buy-and-hold and BRRRR investors.

  • Shipped to prod
  • Stripe subscriptions
  • AI integration
The problem
Newer real estate investors juggle spreadsheets to check whether a deal pencils out: profit, cash required, comparable sales and what happens if the numbers move against them.
What I built
A publicly launched app that models a deal from your assumptions, validates after-repair value with manual, imported or automatic comps, stress-tests sale price, rehab and holding time, and gives an AI deal review. Accounts with Google sign-in, Free and Pro plans on Stripe subscriptions, per-plan usage limits and rate limiting.

QUEST 02 · Open source (MIT) · Released Oct 19, 2026

OptionScout

A free, local-first LEAPS options research app that runs on your own computer.

  • Open source
  • CI pipeline
  • Local-first
The problem
Evaluating long-dated call options against your own strategy rules is tedious, and most tools want your brokerage credentials or push you toward trading.
What I built
A Dockerized, single-user app that evaluates LEAPS against saved strategy rules and sorts them into best and near matches, with a simulated demo book so anyone can try it without a brokerage account. Optional read-only tastytrade integration (OAuth, read scope); order paths are blocked and the app binds to localhost only.
Tech
  • TypeScript monorepo
  • React 19 + Vite
  • Material UI
  • Node.js / Express
  • SQLite + Drizzle ORM
  • Zod

QUEST 03 · Small-business website · WordPress · 2026

Little Giggles Play Co

Soft-play party rentals across Ulster, Orange and Dutchess counties, co-founded with his wife.

  • Co-founder
  • Local business
  • Booking funnel
The problem
A brand-new local business needed to look trustworthy to parents, show its party packages and add-ons clearly, and turn visitors into booking inquiries from day one.
What I built
The full WordPress site: packages, add-ons, gallery and an online booking-inquiry form with package and add-on selection. Registered the domain and set up hosting, DNS, SSL and branded business email, configured SMTP so form emails send from the business domain, and maintains security, caching, updates and cookie consent.
Tech
  • WordPress
  • PopularFX / Pagelayer
  • Fluent Forms
  • Fluent SMTP
  • LiteSpeed Cache
  • Namecheap hosting & DNS
